After a very successful weekend of Cricket, here is the news from the around the club. 

1st XI hosted Old Pauline and added to a superb start. Some brilliant opening spells from Sam Jones and Nick Browning backed up by Sashi Asokan, Mik Horvath and Rory Blanchard limited the opposition to 185-9 from their 50 overs. Despite a shaky start, Adam O’Mahoney and Caleb Bate saw us home both scoring unbeaten 70s.

2nd XI travelled to Trinity Mid-Whitigtians and got the season off the mark with a convincing win. An excellent bowling unit limited the hosts to 157-9. I Tong (3-28) & J Gillis (2-25). In reply, the chase was completed comfortably with 7 overs to spare. Excellent knocks from both Abdur (56*) and Iain (26) took the game away from trinity to ensure a maximum 20 points.

3rd XI struggled at home against a very strong East Molesey side. Losing two wickets within the first 3 balls of the game limited Wick to a below par 83. Ben Stephens did manage to put up a fight scoring 26. 

In reply, the bowlers showed some fight, taking 5 wickets before the close. Charlie Higgins (2-8) again impressing with the ball.

4th XI celebrated their first victory of the season against Valley End. Bowling first, ‘The Wick’ were able to reduce Valley end to 128 all out. Richard Cole (4-26) being the pick of the bowlers. In reply the wick cruised to a 4 wicket victory. Chairman Kemp (67) with the standout batting performance.

Join us next Saturday as Liverpool take on Tottenham in a historic European Champions League final. Bar open all afternoon and late in to the night. 

NEXT SOCIAL

The next social is approaching thick and fast – Save the date. On the 9th June, the clubhouse will undergo a transformation into a Hawaiian Resort. Think Benidorm meets Butlins. Fancy dress will be fully encouraged.

Celebrate a successful weekend of Wick Cricket with Cocktails/Mocktails, Hawaiian food and some Hampton Wick Royal Hot Tubs.

After our T20 Success vs Hampton Hill CC – The boys look to lengthen their cup run in a double header at Wimbledon CC. ‘The Wick’ take on Bank of England CC at 13:30. The winner will stay on to play either Wimbledon or Camberley CC at 16:30. With the Bar open and the BBQ running all day, it should be a great day to get down and support the team!
