After a very successful weekend of Cricket, here is the news from the around the club.
1st XI hosted Old Pauline and added to a superb start. Some brilliant opening spells from Sam Jones and Nick Browning backed up by Sashi Asokan, Mik Horvath and Rory Blanchard limited the opposition to 185-9 from their 50 overs. Despite a shaky start, Adam O’Mahoney and Caleb Bate saw us home both scoring unbeaten 70s.
2nd XI travelled to Trinity Mid-Whitigtians and got the season off the mark with a convincing win. An excellent bowling unit limited the hosts to 157-9. I Tong (3-28) & J Gillis (2-25). In reply, the chase was completed comfortably with 7 overs to spare. Excellent knocks from both Abdur (56*) and Iain (26) took the game away from trinity to ensure a maximum 20 points.
3rd XI struggled at home against a very strong East Molesey side. Losing two wickets within the first 3 balls of the game limited Wick to a below par 83. Ben Stephens did manage to put up a fight scoring 26.
In reply, the bowlers showed some fight, taking 5 wickets before the close. Charlie Higgins (2-8) again impressing with the ball.
