Hampton Wick set up its U10 and U11 girls’ sides in 2022.

We play in the Surrey hardball U10-11 Tier Two North West league and the Middlesex softball league.

The girls won the 2023 Surrey league and are keen to build on this success.

Coaches James Watson and Callum Donnelly have led the girls brilliantly and we are keen to bring in more players as we develop this side of the club.

Links with local schools is something we are very keen to develop and will be looking at this in the coming months.

James says: “Hampton Wick is a shining light to other cricket clubs, and what they can do to promote our game and at the same time help kids in more deprived communities.

“There’s so much talent out there – it’s about making sure that everyone has the same opportunities to fulfil theirs.”

And in 2023, The Wick’s Paige Goodwin made club history in Round 11 of Saturday league games – becoming the first female to skipper a men’s or mixed XI.

And she capped it off by leading the 6th XI to a comfortable 64-run win over Ashford.

Paige said: “Hampton Wick has been incredibly supportive and forward thinking when it comes to girls’ and women’s cricket.

“Mentoring the U11 girls at Hampton Wick has been the highlight of my season this year, and I can’t wait to continue playing and coaching at the Wick next year. UTW!”

The Wick is determined to make our club the perfect place for all the family.

Developing girls’ and women’s cricket is essential to doing this.
