All of us at Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club would like to thank everyone who has donated to our fundraising effort and offered advice and support.
It’s been a tough week, but the reaction from the cricketing community – and sport as a whole – has been humbling.
Young kids have donated their weekly pocket money, members of clubs around the UK have dug deep.
And big organisations, cricketing neighbours, and friends have shared advice and our fundraising links.
This week we have spent considerable time working with our insurers, loss adjusters and our claims adviser.
It’s too early to know what our insurance pay out might be, but it’s clear it will not cover everything we need.
We will have clear shortfalls and immediate cashflow needs to get sport back on at The Wick as soon as possible.
Aside from cricket, that impacts Harlequins Amateurs rugby, Bedfont Sports FC, Kingston College Football Academy and other community groups.
Amongst other things, we need temporary changing rooms for both men and women and toilets with running water.
We need money NOW to do that as insurance will not cover those costs.
