Clubhouse Rebuild
We are delighted to announce that the rebuild of the pavilion began on 22nd June 2026. Whilst this is not the end of the journey, getting to the start of the building process is a significant milestone for which the entire Rebuild Project team deserve an enormous debt of gratitude from the entire club.
What does this mean for cricket?
Very simply, cricket will continue to run as normal this summer. The building works will not affect cricket being played, although there will be some impact around access and parking while works are underway.
How long will the works take?
We expect the building works to take around 10 months. Conservatively, we hope the pavilion will be in place for the 2027 season. We will send periodic emails to the club to keep you updated on progress.
Can I park at the club for the rest of this summer?
Very simply, there is no car parking at the club until further notice. There will be limited on-site parking for essential staff (such as grounds staff) to ensure the club can continue to operate safely and effectively. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. We are actively looking at how best to support members with limited mobility, including the possibility of reserved access arrangements. Further details on this will follow.
Why?
The contractors will be using the car park as their compound to store machinery and materials needed for the works. The contractors have requested — and we have agreed — a compound size that enables efficient movement and storage of materials on site. This will help ensure the build is completed as quickly as possible, reducing the overall period of disruption.
You will still be able to access the club on foot and on bike by the Sandy Lane and King’s Field entrances to the Park. If you need to drive and park, you can park on the local residential roads (subject to restrictions) or in one of the nearby car parks. A map showing where they are will be circulated .
Can I go into the building site to see what’s going on?
No one is permitted to go into the building site. The site will be fully secured and operated as a closed construction area for safety reasons, in line with the contractor’s obligations.
What happens if a ball gets hit into there?
If a ball does go into the site, it will not be retrievable — please do not attempt to enter the site. Ultimately, any balls hit into the building site will be returned to us by the contractor and will be used as replacement balls in future games. We suggest having spare balls available in case of one going into the building site.
We know that these arrangements are not ideal, especially the no parking; however, we would appreciate the whole club supporting this initiative whilst the work goes on to rebuild our home.
